Meanwhile, back in 1997… (hello, 90’s eyebrows)

Today is my birthday! My very first quarantine birthday. Interestingly, more people have remembered my birthday this year than I can recal in the past. I guess because we all have fewer distractions right now.

I’m not a fan of the term “social distancing”. I feel closer to people all over the world now because of this shared experience. Maybe it should be called social closening with physical distance? Or just physical distancing? Silly. The things I think about!

Love y’all!

Good afternoon.

I’m lucky I live in a city with empty trails. If I can get out of my house, go for a walk/run and think about frivolous things like my heart rate and which iced coffee I should make after I run, then I’m ok. I’ve been at home nonstop lately. A lot of us have.

Social distancing has had a strange effect on me. While we are separating ourselves, I’ve never felt closer to people. Experiencing this “pandemic” together makes me hopeful that we will think differently in the future. Perhaps finding a way to reduce our carbon ass-print together? Staying in seems to be helping. I never imagined a scenario that would force us all to cooperate so well (I realize it’s not perfect but we are trying). I can’t say this experience is a “blessing” but good things can come from it. Priorities may shift and perhaps we can be less divisive about our countries and borders and just be humans, trying to survive… together.

Not my most romantic post, but it’s what I’m thinking about.

Happy Sunday!
