Today’s run fueled by unnecessary dumb comments on social media. I should let stuff roll off my back, but sometimes it digs in. And not even stuff directed at me, but toward defenseless co-workers. Why the hell do people not just stay in their lane and worry about their own life? Why do people need to be creeps? Ugh! So yea… Faster running to blow off some steam today.

Gobble, gobble! Only light running lately, but…

Gobble, gobble! Only light running lately, but I was able to hit the trails for the Beat the Bird 5K yesterday on a chilly Thanksgiving morning. I did not have high expectations, but there was enough gas in the tank for 18:40 officially (6:01 pace, 5th overall) and one of the baby back ribs prizes! Gotta say that’s one of the best things I’ve won at a race. Can’t go wrong with food over another water bottle, hat, or medal even.

My foot was a little sore in the evening, so I’m not quite out of the woods yet as far as the plantar fasciitis goes. There are no races on my schedule until the Shamrock Shuffle four months from now, so I should have plenty of time to build a good, strong base. Chicago Marathon decision needs to be made in a few days though, and I’m still on the fence. Might be more fun to go for the sub-1:20 half next year. We shall see.

Hey, strangers! It’s been a couple months since I posted. Usually when a tumblr goes dark, it means bad things are afoot, and to some extent that has been true. I’ll write a more detailed post soon about what’s been going on.

In the meantime, enjoy a couple pics from this morning’s Habitat for Humanity 5K that I won in 18:25. I wasn’t planning to do this race, but my son is involved in the organization, so I figured why the heck not? The winner’s swag was a nice bonus that I was not expecting on a humid day.

If you enjoy the mile splits and such that have been a staple of this blog, I’ve been doing a pretty good job updating my Strava. It’s a lot easier than posting the same to tumblr, so feel free to follow at:
