Wet 10 mile run Wednesday with Maclin.

Felt icky Thursday so rest day.

Easy 4 miles in the snow today.

Not exactly sure what I’m doing for weekend run yet. Was going to go to in-laws, but we are fighting off a small bug so a lot is up in the air. Weird feeling… Trails? Run-club? Early solo run? Several pros/cons for each. I’ll maul it over during my nap today. 🤣

I love when things happen perfectly and without overplanning. Serendipity. Went trail running yesterday with a good friend. Woke up at 5AM to get ready and we had to drive about an hour to get to the park. We started out before daybreak and by the time we reached the top of the first peak, Sugarloaf Mountain, the sun was coming up. There was only a thin opening between the horizon and clouds, as snow was moving in, so the sun only came out for a couple minutes all day. What are the odds that we would be in the best location to catch that window?

We continued our trail run for the next 5 hours. Went a little slower than normal because it was snowy and then muddy underneath the snow. Such a beautiful day plus another couple inches of snow fell while we were out there.

Catching light snow on camera isn’t easy. Thankfully the 12 miles with Jason was easier. Fun conversations about our evolving world. He’s got a 50k next week and I have a marathon so this was a nice and “easy” 12 miles. Only a handful of hills that kept us around 9:30 pace. It was nice running in the light snow.

First double digit run in 3 months & since the foot injury. Felt great despite a blister.

Could have gone longer. Should have gone shorter. Felt a blister on the inside of my foot starting at mile 7. Shoes were damp from the light snow. So I’m assuming that’s why I started getting the blister.

Happy to be home with my socks and shoes off. Sitting barefoot with my feet on the cold pavement. Feels so GOOOOOD!
